Excellent tour experience

Excellent tour and I love it that we can cover so many places in 4 days! The a4-star hotels and dinners are great!
Great experience and guide; memorable visits to World Heritage Sites

All of the five World Heritage Sites we visited were globally significant destinations. Though it was wet and quite cool in late November when we took the trip, and even spitted snow one day, this led to very small visitor numbers and a very enjoyable experience in spite of the cool, wet weather. The hotels were of good quality and both the hotels and the restaurants we ate at were nearly empty and customer service was quite good. Visitors from the US should be advised to bring adapters to use their plugs for charging computers and cell phones or other gadgets but be prepared for sockets that are too small (and round) at which your supposedly universal adapters may not work. In this case the hotels usually can loan you adapters at the front desk. The only negatives on the trip were the overabundance of cats everywhere we went, which was probably one reason that wildlife was scarce, even small birds. Also, smokers were omnipresent and often the stench of strong cigarettes was an issue even inside restaurants. Our guide Effi was great and demonstrated her trilingual skills effortlessly. As an archaeologist by training, she was a wealth of knowledge about the sites we visited. I would note that it is best to also take a guidebook because the information provided at the World Heritage Sites in the ruins and at museums while bilingual or trilingual, was for me very limited and did not apply good interpretive practices to engage the visitor.

A Great Itineray - details need some attention

My husband and I were overall quite pleased with our 4 day Classical Greek tour this December.
Positives:
Experienced and pleasant driver and guide. Antonio was extremely knowledgeable and was an excellent and clear communicator
New, modern, clean bus. George was an experienced and safe driver
Itinerary was exceptional
Timely bathroom/ lunch breaks
We enjoyed the beginning of the trip with 15 passengers

Needs attention:
Please consider including written notes, maps and highlights of each place visited. It was info overload and not everyone is an auditory learner.
Water should be available on bus
We didn’t like the souvenir stops each day. Felt pressure to buy things
We didn’t like the lunch stops that were selected when it was at our expense. Far too expensive and poor quality buffets.
We didn’t like the first hotel (Hotel Victoria) it was small, outdated, not clean and hardware/fixtures/ toaster etc were broken.
We didn’t like like having to drop off/ pick up passengers at different hotels each night and each morning.

Suitable for history enthusiasts who don't mind being on the bus a lot

Tour: We spent a whole lot of time on the bus, it is unavoidable given the sites that we needed to visit. My favorites are the archaelogical site of Olympia and monastries in Meteora! We also met a lot of interesting fellow travellers during the trip.
Guide: The tour guide was very organised and punctual.
Bus: The driver did a great job at navigating, but there were so many windy roads that I feel quite sick and really regretted booking a bus tour and having to endure for 4 days.
Accommodation: All 3 nights were at Amalia hotels, the stay was still acceptable, breakfast and dinner buffets were alright, it gets repetitive after a while since dishes are similar.
