What To Expect

Athens

Meet with your Licensed Tour Guide in our office and depart immediately for Cape Sounion with our luxurious air-conditioned coach. Approximately 1:30 hours drive along Attica’s scenic coastal road, which offers a great view to the Saronic Gulf. Pass through some of the most beautiful suburbs of Athens, such as Glyfada, Vouliagmeni and Varkiza and admire the idyllic beaches and the small islands offshore.

Stop at Vouliagmeni area in the Riviera of Athens and marvel at the majestic view of the suburbs. Enjoy your time there by hearing stories about the famous coastal side of Athens, its unique vibe, stroll around the area and take amazing photos with an extraordinary view.

Cape Sounion, the southernmost tip of Attica, is a significant strategic point, whence the city-state of Athens controlled the sea passage to the Aegean Sea and Piraeus, the central port, as well as the Lavrion peninsula, comprising the rich silver mines thanks to which Athens emerged as a leading power in the 5th century BC.

Temple of Poseidon

Our main stop is Cape Sounion and most specifically the Temple of Poseidon built in the late 5th century BC. You will hear the Mythical tales of Theseus, Ariadne and Minotaur and will explore the Temple of Poseidon, God of the Sea, whilst enjoying a breathtaking panoramic sunset view of the Aegean Sea.

Definitely a worthwhile outing outside of Athens to a fabulous temple on the Grecian coast. Comfortable coach ride. Beautiful scenery.

Started on time Kennedy was knowledgeable took the semiconductor route made a few stops to take pictures

On Suturday I had a great experience! I have visit Cape Sounion with a super comand of professionals - with the guide Anastasia Papageorgiou and with the driver Kennedi. Anastasia told ud a lot of information but in a comfotable rhytme. It was a pleasure to hear not only about ancient history, but also about everyday life of greeks, to hear super jokes from Kennedi and to drink coffee all together at thh Cape Sounion. Would like to visit another one tour!

It was by chance that I happened to be passing TAGAthen’s premises thinking of a tour I could manage on my own. I met the lovely Demos who told me all about the Sounion afternoon Tour.
Timings couldn’t have been better as I was taking a late evening flight home and I was really keen to see the Temple of Poseidon.
The tour was small - just the 6 of us, + Kennedy our friendly & knowledgable driver & Anastasia our lovely & knowledgable tour guide.
So interesting to drive along the Athens riveria seeing the fancy marinas, various beach clubs and Athenians going about their every day business.
We stopped at lake Vougliameni - a day trip all on its own - another time. Then on to the Temple! It did not disappoint and the location was amazing - perched dramatically on a rocky cliff overlooking the Aegean Sea. A Freddo cappuccino on the cafe terrace & a whizz through the gift shop.
I would highly recommend this trip to anyone- it was an Athens highlight for me and the top class service given by Demos, Anastasia & Kennedy was second to none-
