Enjoyable and informative!

Overall it was enjoyable! The only negative I can say was that we spent literally 30-40 mins or so in Apollos Temple in Delphi. The images of seeing downwards towards Apollos temple never happened. Although I can’t take away from how great our Tour guide, Yiota. She had the best back stories and historical context to power us through the traffic. The coordination between other travelers was clear. Excellent organization there. Onto the 2nd part of the tour, which was a stop for lunch, Amelia Hotel, and then to Meteora the following day. The hotel was great! The dinner there was amazing. Up and early next morning breakfast then head out. The bus ride was 4 hours or so including bathroom stops. But the Meteora was magnificent. The history and the sceneries and of course the temples. The temples had public shawls in case for ladies not wearing a skirt. We had a different guide for the Meteora portion, Iffy. She did an amazing job as well giving us a lot of historical context and the significance on the landmarks and artifacts. Really enjoyed it overall and I’d be remiss if I didn’t give a shout-out to the amazing drivers—squeezing through those tight roads with another bus and making it to our destinations on time!

Good but beware of hotel pick up issues

Great experience, overall. The only problematic thing was I had to engage in multiple WhatsApp texts with Viator for my hotel pick up. I'd changed hotels, but somehow I kept getting the same standard text response, "We'll check on this matter." This issue should have been resolved in one text and not over several texts that extended over 4 days. Unnecessary anxiety raised on my part. Problem was finally solved, but pick up was late and not at the hotel. I had to take an underpass and was picked up in the rain on a vey busy street. Otherwise, the rest of the trip was good.

Monasteries of the hills

The whole tour was nice, guide did their job. Was a typical tour. Wish this tour had added a town walk around.

Many options available for these locations, research wisely

The tour started out strong. About 15 people. The guide was very passionate and interesting. Delphi was amazing. If you booked the one day tour you were given time to enjoy the museum as well, but if you booked the two day tour you were not because there is a lot of travelling to cover. At Delphi, I was transferred to a different tour group (11 people approx) for meteora and unfortunately the guide of this group had contracted a painful eye infection. She did her best to continue but was understandably not at her best. The four star hotel was designed to resemble a monastery. Kind of an immersive experience. We arrived too late to enjoy the pool, unfortunately, though it looked beautiful. There was no heat in my room even though i turned the thermostat up to the highest setting. So I piled on all the blankets provided in my closet and made do. The meals were buffet style. By the morning our guide had to leave us because of her infection and we were transferred to "go tours" to finish our trip. This meant our small group joined a large bus tour (approx 50 people total) The Go Tours guide did not seem to care very much about being a guide. Rather than go to Meteora first thing in the morning, when the light is beautiful, he took us to a tourist souvenir store. Similar to tuk tuk drivers in india or thailand. We made it to meteora around noon, when the light is the harshest for photographs. the tour was too large for everyone to fit in the rooms in the monasteries. My recommendation would be to book the one day Delphi tour instead of the two day tour. And do Meteora separately, perhaps by train or by renting a car. That way you can control when you go the monasteries and get better pictures in the golden glow of morning or evening. You can also choose which monasteries you go to and take more time to enjoy the location. There is a town nearby that you can stay in with lots of restaurants and hotels and beautiful views.
